Pakistan Conducts Coordinated Military Strikes in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan Province

Escalating Tensions Threaten Regional Stability as Pakistan and Iran Exchange Military Strikes.

Pakistan has confirmed conducting coordinated and precision military strikes against alleged terrorist hideouts in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, spokesperson for the Pakistani foreign ministry, described the operation as an “intelligence-based” endeavor, revealing that a number of terrorists were killed during the mission, codenamed ‘Marg Bar Sarmachar.’

Baloch highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing concerns about safe havens and sanctuaries within Iran, where individuals identifying as “Sarmachars” – a term often used by Baloch separatist fighters – operated freely. Despite sharing multiple dossiers with concrete evidence of the presence and activities of these terrorists during engagements with Iran, Pakistan claims that the lack of action on these concerns allowed Sarmachars to continue attacks on innocent Pakistanis.

The spokesperson emphasized that the military action was prompted by credible intelligence pointing to an imminent large-scale terrorist threat posed by these individuals. Baloch stated that the operation manifests Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to protecting its national security against all threats and praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces in executing the operation.

While affirming Pakistan’s respect for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Baloch clarified that the sole objective of the military strikes was to safeguard Pakistan’s security and national interests. As a responsible member of the international community, Pakistan asserted its adherence to the principles and purposes of the UN Charter, including the territorial integrity and sovereignty of member states.

Baloch concluded by expressing Pakistan’s deep respect and affection for Iran as a brotherly country. Despite the recent hostilities, she emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation between the two nations to address common challenges, particularly the menace of terrorism.

The international community is closely monitoring this escalation, urging both Pakistan and Iran to seek a diplomatic resolution to prevent further deterioration in relations and potential regional instability.
