In a historic moment for Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has been elected as the 24th Prime Minister of the country. Following his appointment, Sharif expressed gratitude to his elder brother, Nawaz Sharif, and all his allies for their trust and support in making him the Leader of the House.

As Shehbaz Sharif delivered his acceptance speech, chants of ‘thief’ echoed from opposition benches, led by lawmakers backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.

Acknowledging the contributions of his brother, Nawaz Sharif, who served as Prime Minister three times, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the significant developmental strides made during his tenure. He attributed Pakistan’s progress to Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, stating, “Nawaz Sharif is the one who built Pakistan.“

Addressing the pressing issue of Pakistan’s debt crisis, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the alarming situation where even the National Assembly’s expenditures were financed through borrowing. He underscored the urgent need for systemic reforms to address this crisis and vowed to collaborate with political leaders, including Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, to steer the country towards self-sufficiency.

Promising to tackle Pakistan’s circular debt crisis, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pledged to alleviate the burden of high electricity and gas prices on the public. He declared his intent to eradicate electricity and tax theft, implementing technological solutions to minimize human error and foster economic growth.

In a bid to empower the youth, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced plans to provide specialized training to 500,000 students, equipping them with skills in technology and artificial intelligence to create job opportunities.

Focusing on agriculture, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to provide subsidies directly to farmers and introduce a package for solar tube-wells. He pledged to eliminate the seed mafia and procure quality seeds from international sources, ensuring the prosperity of the agricultural sector.

In his commitment to infrastructure development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif promised to establish efficient public transport networks across the country and provide state-of-the-art healthcare facilities. He also pledged to facilitate talented students in pursuing higher education abroad to enhance Pakistan’s global standing.

Addressing concerns about the judiciary, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to expedite the delivery of justice and announced plans to release women and children serving sentences of less than two years.

With these ambitious pledges, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarks on a journey to usher in sweeping reforms and propel Pakistan towards a brighter future.
