Iranian President Ebrahim Raeise Warns of Severe Response to Actions Against Nation’s Interests
Iranian President Issues Dire Warning Amid Rising Tensions with Israel: Any Threat to National Interests Will Be Met with Swift and Punitive Measures.
In a recent telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi issued a stern warning, emphasizing that any action perceived as detrimental to Iran’s interests would be met with a significant and painful response.
The conversation, held on Monday night, delved into various regional developments, with President Raeisi particularly highlighting the necessity of halting what he described as “crimes” committed by the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip.
Raeisi condemned the recent terrorist attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus, orchestrated by the Israeli regime on April 1. Expressing dissatisfaction with the international community’s response, he criticized the United Nations and the UN Security Council for their failure to condemn the aggression in accordance with international law.
In retaliation for the attack on its consulate, Iran executed what it termed “Operation True Promise,” targeting facilities equivalent to those involved in the assault on its diplomatic premises. The President underscored Iran’s right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, asserting the operation’s success in punishing the aggressors.
Furthermore, Raeisi called upon Islamic nations to take decisive measures against the ongoing actions of the Israeli regime in Gaza. He attributed regional tensions to the unwavering support provided by certain Western countries to Israel.
Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani echoed President Raeisi’s sentiments, emphasizing the mutual support between Iran and Qatar in various circumstances. He condemned the Israeli aggression on Iran’s consulate and noted a global convergence in support of the Palestinian cause, cautioning against attempts to divert attention from Israel’s actions in Gaza.
In response to the Israeli attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a retaliatory strike on targets in occupied Palestine. The assault resulted in the destruction of the consulate building, leading to casualties among Iranian military advisors.
The exchange between President Raeisi and Emir Al Thani underscores heightened tensions in the region, with Iran reaffirming its commitment to defending its interests and holding aggressors accountable for their actions.
As tensions persist, the international community watches closely, mindful of the potential repercussions of further escalations in the already volatile Middle Eastern landscape.
