Iranian Army Commander Vows Missile Strikes on Occupied Palestine if Necessary

Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi warns of potential missile attacks in response to Israeli aggression, citing recent strikes as legitimate defense.

Tehran, 25 April 2024: Iranian Army Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi declared on Thursday that Iran stands ready to launch missiles at any location within occupied Palestine if deemed necessary. Speaking at a ceremony in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, Mousavi emphasized the country’s determination to retaliate against Israeli aggression, highlighting recent military actions as justified responses.

Mousavi praised Operation True Promise, an Iranian initiative that targeted Israel with a barrage of drones and missiles in retaliation for what he described as the Zionists’ assault on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1. He underscored Iran’s position that the operation was a legitimate act of defense against what he labeled as the “illegitimate” actions of the Israeli government.

“The child-killing Zionist regime with its barbarism in Gaza is horribly martyring innocent people to create an unbreakable image of itself, but Operation True Promise shattered this image,” Mousavi stated, condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza and its attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus.

According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), seven military advisors were martyred in the Israeli assault on the Iranian consulate. In response, Iran launched a coordinated strike on Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories using drones and missiles.

While Iran reiterated its stance of not seeking regional tension, Iranian political and military officials have issued stern warnings against further Israeli aggression. They have asserted that any fresh assaults would elicit a severe response from Iran, potentially escalating tensions in the already volatile region.
