Rs 49,479 Crores of SGST collected in Haryana State

More than 4.66 lakh entrepreneurs of the state are taking direct benefit of four years of GST.

HARYANA, INDIA The chief minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, on Thursday thanked ‘all the taxpayers of Haryana’ for their tax payments under the new tax system of Goods and Sales Tax (GST).

The Chief Minister’s Office said Haryana has set a new dimension by collecting SGST of ₹49,479 crores, adding, “More than 4.66 lakh entrepreneurs of the state are taking direct benefit of four years of GST.”

In a Press Release titled “Celebrating 4 years of Goods and Services Tax”, the government said the state of Haryana along with the Central Government introduced this ‘landmark’ reform from 1st July, 2017.

“GST is a unique reform where the State along with its peers and the Central Government pooled its sovereignty in the GST Council. All decisions are taken by consensus in the Council,” the state government said.

The government claimed that it is one of the largest indirect tax reforms where all taxpayer compliance from registrations to cancellation are to be done online with no taxpayer-officer interface, hence brining lot efficiency and transparency.

Revealing figures, the government said that the state is administering the tax for 4,66,703 taxpayers along with Central Government Authorities. “The State has collected Rs. 49,479 Crores of SGST till date along with the provisional settlement of Rs. 17,771 Crores,” it said.

It further claimed, “In order to provide State of the Art systems to our officers and taxpayer, the Government along with GSTN has initiated transition to Model-2 mode of implementation.”

The government said it will continue to support taxpayers throughout their GST life cycle by providing time bound processing of applications and quick grievance redressal.
