CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also directed the officers to give priority to teachers in vaccination and complete the vaccination of government employees

Following a decrease in fresh cases of COVID-19, the State administration in Andhra Pradesh decided on Monday to relax further the curfew from 6 AM to 10 PM, starting July 8, with the exception of two Godavari districts.

The announcement was made by the state chief minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy after a review meeting was held in this connection.

“From the 8th of this month, curfew will be relaxed in all the districts except the two Godavari districts till 10 PM,” the CM Shri Vyas Jagan said.

In the review meeting of Covid control measures, the CM said that theatres, restaurants, and gyms should follow Covid protocols and relevant guidelines issued by the government.

The chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also directed the officers to give priority to teachers in vaccination and complete the vaccination of government employees by departments as per the priorities.

“Restrictions will continue in both the Godavari districts till the positivity rate falls below 5 percent,” the chief minister directed.

Following a spike in coronavirus infections in the second wave, the Covid curfew has been in effect in Andhra Pradesh since May 5, 2021. Since then, the government has gradually eased the curfew period as the number of cases has decreased since June.

However, night curfews will be in effect in eight districts from 9 PM to 6 AM till July 7, and in the other five districts, including the two Godavari districts, from 6 PM to 6 AM.
