The Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba is set for a second iteration

Cop capers are a Rohit Shetty favourite. We saw his Singham flicks starring Ajay Devgn and the funny Simmba starring Ranveer Singh. He then followed it up with Sooryavanshi, roping in Akshay Kumar to the play the lead.

Sooryavanshi, released recently, proved to be a hit. Rohit Shetty had added extra masala to the flick by bringing in Singham and Simmba into the plot, making fans of Akshay, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer root for the movie.

Now, the film maker is looking to make celebrations even brighter with the announcement of Simmba 2, a sequel to the Ranveer starrer. The Simmba franchise, is in fact, so close to Ranveer that the actor also wants to carry on with the role in a new edition.

Simmba 2 to thrill fans

The Rohit Shetty cop universe is already much sought after. The Simmba sequel will make it even more thrilling.

Ranveer Singh, fresh from the success of the critically acclaimed 83, helmed by Kabir Khan, is hot in the current Bollywood terrain. He has also been reported as having been approached by many filmmakers to play real life characters in their upcoming biopics.

Shetty’s cop tales will continue and that brings much excitement to fans. Be it Singham, Simmba or Sooryavanshi, the film maker has been able to dole out on a platter all that his fans would want to watch in a mega screen in theatres.

Ranveer’s favourite cop role

With Simmba 2 also on the anvil, he is expected to continue with his streak of success. But if you expect Simmba 2 to arrive soon, it looks like it would take a while. For, Shetty s currently immersed in the work of ‘Cirkus’, which also stars Ranveer along with Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Ranveer has already confirmed Simmba 2 and so it is almost sure that it will happen. The actor played Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba and has many a time said that it his favourite character.

Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty is also said to be working on the next edition of the Singham franchise too, which has Ajay Devgn in the lead. So we need to expect Singham and Simmba return in a few months’ time.
