Cirkus to see Ranveer make a comeback in 2 distinct avatars

Rohit Shetty’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘The Comedy of Errors’ is tipped as Ranveer Singh’s biggest film yet

Shakespeare is much sought after by film makers from all across the globe. Many a tale spun by the bard have made it to the silver screen in the form of adaptations, and most of them have turned out to be commercial successes.

The Indian screen has also seen many adaptations of Shakesperean plays, in various Indian languages, and most of them have been box office hits. The latest in the line is a soon to be released flick made by hit-maker Rohit Shetty. The film, titled Cirkus, is a Bollywood adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play The Comedy of Errors.

What makes Cirkus newsworthy currently is the presence of Ranveer Singh, and that too in two different avatars. Dubbed as Ranveer Singh’s biggest film of his career, Cirkus evokes much hope as Rohit Shetty had earlier made a bunch of hit movies. The last box office blockbuster came in the form of Sooryavanshi, which incidentally was a big commercial success, post the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ranveer Singh in two avatars

The two distinct avatars of Ranveer Singh have triggered much interest after the first teaser was released a while ago. The comedy entertainer will arrive in theatres on December 23. Prior to that, the full length Cirkus trailer is expected on December 2.

Last seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Cirkus will be seen as a comeback for Ranveer. All excited, the actor hopped on to Instagram to announce his role in Cirkus. Here’s the teaser that Ranveer shared with the tagline, Welcome to Our World. The teaser throws at us hints of a setting in the 1960s where everything used to be fairly uncomplicated.

Besides Ranveer Singh, yes of course two versions of the actor, indeed, the film will also have in its cast some big names of Bollywood. They include Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and Varun Sharma.

Set for Christmas release

All we see in the teaser hint at a lively entertainer in the offing, expected to light up the upcoming Christmas season. With Rohit Shetty at the helm, expectations are high.

The Comedy of Errors adaptation on Bollywood screen is something everyone would want to watch. Let’s hope the new Rohit Shetty opus would rise up to audience expectations.
