Japan – India Tourism Exchange Year 2023
The conclave was a curtain-raiser event by the Japanese Embassy to mark 2023 as the "Japan - India Tourism Exchange Year".
“Today is an International Sushi Day” H.E. Hiroshi Suzuki, Japanese Ambassador to India announced in his opening address at “Washoku Conclave: Explore our Table for Sustainability” on 18th June 2023 at Hotel Taj Mahal New Delhi. The conclave was a curtain-raiser event by the Japanese Embassy to mark 2023 as the “Japan – India Tourism Exchange Year”.
Also, The year 2023 marks the 10th Anniversary of the registration of “Washoku”, one of the traditional Japanese cuisines, as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The Washoku Conclave was well planned. Post the inaugural session, the executive chefs Hitoshi Sugiura from Japan and Gunjan Goela from India discussed “Sustainability” in the Culinary Culture of India and Japan.
High-profile invitees to the conclave experienced Sushi, Japanese curries etc. as the Japanese companies exhibited fabulous Japanese foods during the conclave.
