NAVi goes to America; eyes success on US shores

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India seeks to replicate the Asia success story of NAVi in the US market place

The NAVi had seen quite a good amount of success in India when it was launched. The uniquely styled two-wheeler from the Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India stables, came about as a blend of a scooter and motorcycle and captivated many an enthusiast in India when it arrived.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), in a bid to replicate the success in the Western markets, is now looking at the prospects of such a two-wheeler in the US markets.

The company is seeing the US market place as a potential for success and also believes that it would provide HMSI with the opportunity to set new standards of global manufacturing quality in India.

The company will bring the NAVi to the American shores via Mexico. It needs to be noted that the company has a facility under the name of Honda de Mexico in Mexico, and it has been exporting completely knocked down (CKD) kits of the vehicle to Mexico in July this year. A company statement stated that it has already dispatched over 5000 CKD kits of NAVi bikes to Mexico since July this year.

The US markets will get the NAVi through Honda de Mexico. A two-wheeler that comes with the promise of a world of limitless possibilities for riders around the globe, the NAVi is a cross over vehicle which provides the rider with the qualities and advantages of a motorcycle as well as a scooter.

Present in 22 markets in Asia, Latin America and Middle East

Honda NAVi is a crossover, which combines the advantages of a scooter with the characteristics of a motorcycle. It is, in many cases, the first choice of motorcycle to buy. Pushed in India as a traffic-friendly and lightweight two-wheeler, the NAVi offers easy manoeuvring in tight parking spaces, which is seen as a great capability.

The NAVi, first offered in overseas markets when exports commenced in 2016, currently has a fan following in more than 22 markets across Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. According to company statistics, the NAVi is driven by more than over 1.8 lakh customers in these regions.
