PM Modi to Strengthen Bilateral Ties During Official Visits to UAE and Qatar

Prime Minister Modi's Diplomatic Outreach Aims to Deepen Bilateral Ties and Enhance Regional Cooperation.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar from February 13 to February 15, marking his seventh visit to the UAE and his second visit to Qatar since 2014.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significant growth in cooperation between India and the UAE across various sectors over the past nine years. Cooperation between the two nations has expanded in areas such as trade and investment, defence and security, food and energy security, and education. Prime Minister Modi emphasized the robust cultural and people-to-people ties that bind the two nations together.

During his visit to the UAE, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to meet His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, in Abu Dhabi. The discussions aim to advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE. The Prime Minister expressed his anticipation for fruitful discussions, having recently hosted His Highness in Gujarat during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.

Furthermore, PM Modi will address a gathering of world leaders at the World Government Summit in Dubai on February 14, 2024, at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Defence Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Discussions with Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid will focus on enhancing ties with Dubai.

One significant event during the visit will be the inauguration of the first Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi. The BAPS temple is viewed as a symbol of harmony, peace, and tolerance, reflecting the shared values between India and the UAE. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will address the Indian community in Abu Dhabi, reaffirming the strong bond between India and its diaspora in the UAE.

In Qatar, Prime Minister Modi is slated to meet His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir, to discuss the remarkable growth and transformation witnessed under his leadership. The visit aims to further deepen the historically close and friendly relations between India and Qatar. The multifaceted ties between the two countries encompass high-level political exchanges, burgeoning trade and investment, energy cooperation, and cultural and educational collaboration.

The presence of the substantial Indian community in Doha, numbering over 800,000, underscores the strong people-to-people ties between India and Qatar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visits to the UAE and Qatar are poised to strengthen bilateral relations and foster greater cooperation across various sectors, contributing to regional stability and prosperity.
