As per the Rajasthan chief minister, the government will make a judgement as early as possible, based on the opinions of specialists and the feelings of the parents.

NEW DELHI — The reopening of educational institutions in Rajasthan was discussed with Dr VK Paul, member of the NITI Aayog and head of the National Committee on Covid Vaccination, according to the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The chief minister said that he hopes that the Central government will be able to offer specific recommendations on this important decision soon.

“There was a discussion with Dr VK Paul, member of NITI Aayog and chairman of the National Committee on Covid Vaccination, regarding the reopening of educational institutions. I hope that the Central Government can issue detailed guidelines in this matter soon,” the chief minister said in a tweet on Monday evening.

Mr Gehlot added that the state administration does not want to make a quick judgement on this sensitive issue since it is difficult to foresee what the mood of Corona will be at this time.

As per the chief minister, the government will make a judgement as early as possible, based on the opinions of specialists and the feelings of the parents.

“This is a sensitive issue on which the state government does not want to take any hasty decision as it is difficult to predict what will be the mood of Corona right now,” he said and informed, “We will take a decision soon in this matter according to the opinion of the experts and the sentiments of the parents.”

Last month, Rajasthan government decided to form a five-member ministerial committee to decide on reopening dates for educational institutions and formulate SOPs for them, to reduce the risk of infection.

However, the state’s Health Minister Raghu Sharma, who is also a member of the committee, told media that vaccine for children was in the third stage of testing, meaning that it was expected to be available for them in the coming months.

“Until the children are vaccinated or their vaccination starts, it would not be an ideal situation for them to visit schools,” Sharma was quoted as having said by the national daily TOI on Sunday.
