State cabinet meeting to discuss the post-lockdown economic situation in Telangana

Chief Minister’s Office in Telangana on Sunday stated that a state cabinet meeting is scheduled to take place in which the post-lockdown economic situation will be discussed while some key decisions will be taken in this connection.

As per the details, the state cabinet meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 8 at 2 PM, and will be chaired by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

The Cabinet is likely to discuss issues related to health, Corona situation in the state, irrigation, agrarian affairs, farm work, the state’s economic situation in the wake of the lockdown.

The decision on whether to extend the lockdown or to start lifting some of the curbs will be taken in the same Cabinet meeting on June 8. The existing lockdown in the state is set to come to an end on June 9.

Following the commencement of monsoon crop cultivation, the Cabinet is likely to discuss agrarian issues such as crop investment assistance to farmers, measures to curb adulterated seeds, availability of fertilizers and pesticides.

Also, in the wake of the reports of prediction of a third wave, the Cabinet is likely to discuss the precautions to be taken by the state’s medical department to deal effectively with any emerging situation.

Meanwhile, the chief minister has decided to open 19 diagnostic centers in 19 districts of the from June 9, which is scheduled to start from tomorrow (July 7).

The CM decided that all the ministers should participate in the program at the same time and open 19 centers at the same time on the same day.

In this context, the CM decided to invite other dignitaries where ministers are not available and start diagnostic centers. In this context, the issue of ‘who should participate and where’ is likely to be discussed and decided at the State cabinet meeting.

Telangana continued to witness a downward trend in COVID-19 cases with 1,436 fresh infections being reported on Sunday, the lowest single day spike in two months.

The tally now stands at over 5.91 lakh while the toll stood at 3,378 with 14 casualties, as per the state’s daily bulletin.

The State has 27,016 active cases and over 97,000 were tested. The total number of cumulative cases in the state stood at 5,91,170 while with 3,614 being cured, the total recoveries were at 5,60,776.
