Bommai exit imminent? That’s what the Karnataka CM’s emotional statements hint at

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai gets emotional as he speaks to people of his own constituency, drops hints of a possible exit

Basavaraj Bommai who was installed as Chief Minister of Karnataka on July 28, soon after BS Yediyurappa had stepped down after only two years in office, seems to be so close to losing his seat.

Speculations are rife that Bommai is on his way out, and the hints were dropped by the Chief Minister himself. The Bharatiya Janata Party has been toying with the post of Chief Minister on Karnataka, never providing concrete hopes to even the leaders who are picked for the post.

Bommai seems to be facing the heat in just five months of holding the top job. The BJP leader from Shiggaon seeing the earth under his feet being swept away however doesn’t augur well for the state, as the Central leadership of the party continues to dictate terms without looking at what the people of the state have to say.

Posts, positions not permanent, says Bommai

Bommai’s possible exit has been a topic of discussion for quite some time in the Karnataka’s political circles. And as if confirming this, Bommai himself got emotional while speaking in his own constituency, Shiggaon.

Bommai went to the extent of telling his voters in his constituency that “nothing is permanent in this world including posts and positions”. This statement is now being widely debated, as many feel that Bommai knows he will have to step down soon.

The Karnataka Chief Minister went on to say that nothing is eternal in this world and that posts and positions are also not forever. He also proclaimed that he will continue to be the people’s ‘Basavaraj’ even if he is not Chief Minister.

What is the BJP top leadership planning?

All these statements, which came as emotionally-loaded, makes one think that the Central leadership has a plan cut out for Bommai and that could be his exit from the position of Chief Minister

The exit of Bommai is of course imminent. However, no one has a clear answer to what is being planned by the top leadership of the BJP. Who will be Bommai’s replacement is also under wraps.
