Delhi and Haryana Police Collaborate to Take Down Wanted Gangsters Linked to Multiple Heinous Crimes, Including the Burger King Murder Case.
Intense Shootout Between Police and Notorious Criminals Leaves Several Injured, Ends in Hospitalization of Suspects
Sonipat, Haryana: In a high-stakes joint operation, the Delhi Crime Branch NDR and the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) engaged in a fierce encounter with three notorious criminals associated with the Himanshu Bhau gang. The incident unfolded in the Kharkhoda area of Sonipat, resulting in an intense exchange of gunfire that left several police personnel injured. The operation was led by DCP Amit Goyal, who sustained a hit on his bulletproof jacket but emerged unharmed.
Encounter Details
The dramatic shootout occurred when police attempted to apprehend the suspects, identified as Ashish alias Lalu, Sunny Kharar, and Vicky Ridhana. Despite being ordered to surrender, the criminals opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate. All three suspects sustained injuries during the encounter and were subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.
Criminal Background
Ashish and Vicky were linked to the high-profile Burger King murder case that took place on June 18 in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden. In this incident, three individuals on a motorcycle targeted Aman Joon outside a Burger King outlet, an act claimed by Himanshu Bhau as revenge for the murder of his associate “Shakti Dada.” The trio, also carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh each announced by Haryana Police, were involved in multiple heinous crimes across Delhi and Haryana.
Ashish was wanted in 13 cases, including 18 counts of murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, and petrol pump robbery. Sunny, on the other hand, faced charges in 4-5 cases of murder and attempted murder. The criminals’ extensive criminal records and continuous unlawful activities had put them on the radar of both Delhi and Haryana police forces.
Legal Actions and Further Investigations
In response to their ongoing criminal activities, Delhi Police had previously invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against the Himanshu Bhau gang. This legal action followed an incident where the gang fired at a Fusion car showroom in Delhi and demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crores from the showroom’s owner. Additionally, Interpol had issued a red-corner notice against Himanshu Bhau, further underscoring the severity of their criminal operations.
The police forces of Delhi and Haryana continue to collaborate in their investigation, aiming to dismantle the network of the Himanshu Bhau gang and bring its members to justice.
Ongoing Efforts
The successful joint operation signifies a significant blow to organized crime in the region, with law enforcement agencies reiterating their commitment to maintaining public safety and order. As investigations proceed, more details are expected to emerge regarding the gang’s activities and the broader implications of their criminal network.
The collaborative efforts between the Delhi Crime Branch NDR and the STF Sonipat Police underscore the importance of inter-agency cooperation in tackling organized crime and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
