Authorities in J&K order probe as candidates allege fraud in JKSSB SI selection list

The JKSSB’s Sub-Inspector selection list has recently come under scrutiny, with candidates alleging large-scale fraud

In the wake of claims of massive fraud in the J&K Services Selection Board’s selection list for police Sub-Inspector jobs, LG Manoj Sinha announced on Thursday that his administration has decided to investigate the matter.

While addressing at a passing out parade in Udhampur, LG Sinha stated that the charges will be investigated in a timely manner by the Additional Chief Secretary, Home and that corrective action will be done if any wrongdoing is uncovered.

Committee formed to look into allegations of fraud

“Over the last few days, there have been reports that question the selection list for SI posts. We’ve decided to form a committee led by the Additional Chief Secretary to look into the matter. In the event of fraud, the list will be quashed and fresh recruitment will be initiated,” he stated.

The LG stated that this was the first time recruitment has been scrutinised.

Over 20 siblings qualify for police sub-inspector posts

It is pertinent to mention here that the JKSSB’s SI selection list, declared online on June 4, 2022, recently came under attack with candidates alleging large-scale fraud, claiming that candidates from the same families were selected many times.

In the JKSSB SI result, over 20 siblings have qualified for the police recruitment, which is being questioned.

In the result analysis shared by a Twitter user, the marked colours show the names of 22 siblings shortlisted for J&K Police Recruitment. If one sees carefully, one would notice that even the names of family members are the same, raising questions about this bizarre phenomenon.

Over 97,000 candidates appeared in SI recruitment exam

Earlier, JKSSB SI Result 2022 was declared for the exam that was held for recruitment to 1200 posts of Sub Inspectors in the Jammu and Kashmir police under the Home Department, UT Cadre.

Over 97,000 candidates appeared for an exam for the recruitment of sub-inspectors in the Jammu and Kashmir Police on March 27, 2022.
