Intel Warns Of Terror Attack Around Srinagar And Awantipora Air Bases

There has been quite a bitter-sweet silence on the Pakistani side after the Balakot air Strikes carried out by the Indian Forces. Pakistani Airports have been partially closed for Indian flights as well as few other layover flights.

Srinagar, Friday, 17 May 2019,  –

Based on fresh intelligence received from various agencies, the security has been beefed up around the Srinagar And Awantipora airbases in Jammu and Kashmir.

Reports had revealed plans to strike terror in Kashmir previously as well. The government sources have informed about intelligence input warning against terrorists’ plans to carry out an attack on Srinagar and Awantipora air bases.

Earlier this year, there were reports that the JeM is planning to attack the security forces again in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

This came after the horrifying Pulwama attack on CRPF Convoy moving towards Kashmir.  The CRPF convoy, which was attacked in Pulwama’s Awantipora, had over 70 vehicles and more than 2,500 personnel. While at least 44 jawans were killed, many others were injured.

There has been quite a bitter-sweet silence on the Pakistani side after the Balakot air Strikes carried out by the Indian Forces.

Pakistani Airports have been partially closed for Indian flights as well as few other layover flights.

On account of rising diplomatic pressure from India and amid intense global pressure to rein in the terror groups following the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan banned 2008 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed’s terror outfit Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and its front Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF).
