Nokia T10 Tablet: Family companion, wallet-friendly too

The Nokia T10 comes with stock Android 12 out of the box and a stock UI with no unnecessary bloatware or apps.

The tablet PC industry was quick to respond to the changing customer expectations in the recent past. Evolution of product design with respect to customer demands resulted in incorporating features like lighter devices, higher screen resolution and size, enhanced graphics for gaming and video streaming and apps foe syncing with other devices etc.

Affordability is the main deciding factor in the success of a tablet in sectors such as education and business. Nokia T10 tablet is a budget-friendly option which is capable of doing the basic stuff.

T10 is smaller and more affordable than its predecessor the T20, and it can also make phone calls. The 8-inch screen highlights its compact design character. The IPS LCD display has HD+ resolution with 1200 by 800 pixels, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Viewing angles and the contrast are good enough and the device comes with Widevine L1 certification.

Features – good and bad

The display is not too impressive but you can use this tablet for reading, taking online classes, or video calls. It has a USB C port, a microphone hole, and a loudspeaker on the right side. The other speaker, the power button, a 3.5mm headphone jack are included on the left side.

On the top to the left, you get the volume rocker button. The Micro SD, and SIM card slots are at the bottom. There is an 8Mp rear facing camera with LED flash at the back and a 2MP sensor at the front. They are just good enough to take pictures of documents, notes, etc.

The body is made of a polycarbonate plastic which is strong enough, with flat edges are flat, and its waistline measures at 9mm. At 375 grams, it’s easy to carry and comes in one colour only, the ocean blue. The back is textured with an extra bit of grip and easier to keep it clean. Using an additional protective cover makes the device sit upright.

T10 has got an IPX2 splash resistance rating, therefore it gets protection against accidental water droplets. The sound output of the dual speakers is crispy and loud. An SD card can be used to enhance the storage as the available memory configurations are just 32 GB or 64 GB.

The software gives you a lighter experience with limited hardware power and the performance is decent enough for everyday jobs. At the same time, software features are not enough to make full use of the additional screen space.

Nokia T10 is affordable

There are no edge shortcuts and advanced pen input, to mention a few. The software additions to provide an entertainment centre and a kids’ space are worth mentioning. The entertainment zone can be accessed by swiping to the left of the main home screen. The kids’ space is a safe environment for children where you can choose apps, games and features they can access. Face unlock is available, but it does not feel fully secure.

The UNISOC T606 CPU is good for web browsing, watching content, checking your emails, and for the social media. The T10 also comes with the promise of 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security updates. The 5250 mAh battery is just enough for reading and streaming for a full day and for heavy usage, the device may last about 7-8 hours on a full charge. At around $ 160, with LTE connectivity, good at basic activities, Nokia T10 tablet will be a reliable companion for you and your family.
