LG Manoj Sinha launches J&K’s New Film Policy 2021

NEW DELHI — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched the much-awaited J&K’s New Film Policy 2021 in a star-studded evening on Thursday with renowned actor Amir Khan and film-maker Rajkumar Hirani, among others.
Mr Manoj Sinha, in a tweet thread, disclosed some of the important details concerning the launch of the latest film policy of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the LG, the New Film Policy is regarded as one of the best in the country.
IN A TWEET, the LG Sinha maintained that it would convert Jammu Kashmir into the most sought-after location for the entertainment industry, restoring J&K’s halcyon days as a cinematographer’s dream restarting the Golden Era of film shooting in the state.
Single Window Clearance Mechanism in J&K’s New Film Policy 2021
The UT authorities have set up Single Window Clearance Mechanism, prepared equipment, location, and talent directories in this connection.
Apart from offering financial incentives for filmmakers shooting in the UT, the new policy, as per the LG, aims to maximize the potential of promising local talent and create livelihood opportunities for many.
While stating that Jammu and Kashmir was regaining its proud legacy of association with the world of cinema, they invited filmmakers to capture the natural beauty of the UT in their lenses.
The filmmakers could also avail themselves of a host of fiscal incentives, world-class facilities offered by the LG-led administration.
Meanwhile, famous producer Mahaveer Jain announced his next film to be shot in the UT. Also, details about another web series by Vir Hirani was also made public.
Independence Day Sports Week Celebration 2021 also declared open
Earlier today, Mr Manoj Sinha declared open the Independence Day Sports Week Celebration 2021.
The program was kick-started by conducting the inaugural Women’s Rugby & Football Exhibition Matches at TRC Synthetic Turf Football Stadium at Srinagar.
On the occasion, LG announced Rs 5 lakh cash award for Rakesh Kumar, Archer from Katra Reasi, who has qualified for Tokyo Paralympics – scheduled to be held from August 24, 2021.
Likewise, Rs 2 lakh cash award was announced for Doda’s rifle shooter, Chain Singh.
40 Khelo-India centres in all districts to be established
In another tweet, LG Manoj Sinha said that the government would establish 40 Khelo-India centers in all districts to give further impetus to sporting culture in the UT.
Twenty-two coaches have been appointed to train and mentor the next generation of sportspersons, the LG informed, adding that 44 coaches and 22 instructors will be recruited in different disciplines under the prime minister’s Development Package (PMDP).
According to the LG, the Department of Youth Services & Sports has been allocated a budget of Rs 513 crore.
The department shall continue providing sustained handholding to the young budding sportspersons of the UT and lay a solid platform for them to display their talent at higher levels, the LG stated.
