BJP under fire for claiming removal of Article 370 ended ‘terrorism’ in Kashmir
Netizens took to social media including Twitter to criticize the ruling party for failing to curb the civilian killings in the valley even after the hyped Abrogation of Article 370.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which had claimed that its decision to end the special status of Jammu and Kashmir will end the killings and bring an end to violence, is under fire from the people after the recent spate of civilian killings in Srinagar.
Netizens, while condemning the BJP-led Central government, called out the fake claim. Consequently, the hashtag ‘#Article370’ was trending on Twitter.
“It is called the failure of BJP govt. They lied to the nation that no attacks will happen after abrogation of Article 370,” a Twitter user, اخلاص, said.
Another Twitter user posted, “Removing Article 370 didn’t end terrorism in Kashmir.”
“First we heard if Narendra Modi becomes PM, no terrorist will dare enter India. Then we heard Demonetization has killed Terrorism. Then we were told after Balakote, no Terrorist will enter India. Then, after the removal of Article 370, Terrorism will end. Only the stupid believe them,” another user, Anurag, observed in a tweet.
Ruplekha, another user while responding to the BJP leader Ravinder Raina’s comments over the killings of the civilians in Srinagar, asked, “But how Modi told us abrogation of Article 370 and demonetization would stop terrorism.”
“In the last 48 hours, 5 civilians were shot dead in Kashmir. Either Hindus, Muslims or Sikhs all were targeted. Where is Modi ji & BJP supporters who were shouting that abrogation of Article 370 will remove terrorism completely from J&K,” another user asked.
