DELHI, INDIA – 1st August 2023 — The B20 Summit 2023, the official dialogue forum of G20 with the global business community, is set to host an extraordinary congregation of global and Indian industry stalwarts in Delhi from August 25 to 27. The summit’s theme for this year, ‘RAISE,’ underlines the need for Responsible, Accelerated, Innovative, Sustainable, Equitable businesses.
The event is expected to attract big names such as N Chandrasekaran, Tata Sons Chairman and this year’s B20 Chair, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Bharti Enterprises Chairman, Roshni Nadar, HCL Technologies Chairperson, among others from the Indian industry. The international roster includes Shantanu Narayen, Adobe Chairman and CEO, Michael Miebach, Mastercard CEO, and Arvind Krishna, IBM Chairman and CEO.
The B20 Summit, established in 2010, facilitates direct interaction between G20 leaders and businesses and organizations worldwide. Each year, the G20 Presidency appoints a B20 Chair from the host country.
The summit will also host other notable business personalities from India, such as Uday Kotak, CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Sajjan Jindal, MD of JSW Steel. The international delegates include World Economic Forum President Borge Brende and Microsoft President and Vice Chairman Brad Smith, among others.
Discussions at the summit will revolve around various crucial topics, including inclusive global value chains, the future of work, skilling and mobility, digital transformation, financing for global economic recovery, financial inclusion for economic empowerment, energy, climate change, resource efficiency, and tech, innovation, and R&D.
CII As The Official Secretariat For B20
Parallel to the B20 Summit, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will lead a delegation to South-East Asia to promote skilled Indian talent, facilitate mobility pathways, and forge institutional and industry partnerships. The delegation will visit the Republic of Korea and Japan from 31st July to 4th August 2023.
This dual initiative represents an excellent opportunity for India, as the current G20 President, and CII, the official Secretariat for B20, to enhance the skilling pipeline and create global workforce opportunities for Indian youth.
