All offices to function with 100% staff strength in Gujarat, says CM Vijay Rupani

The Gujarat government agreed earlier this week to expand the hours of operation for businesses and retail complexes

Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat, on Thursday directed for allowing all offices, both government and private, to operate with full capacity of staff in the state.

The decision was made public by the Chief Minister’s Office on Friday. However, it has asked for adherence to the mandatory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding the pandemic of COVID-19.

The new guidelines regarding resumption of offices with 100% staff presence will be in effect from June 7, Monday.

“CM Shri @vijayrupanibjp decides to allow all the government and private offices across the State to function with 100% staff presence, adhering to mandatory COVID-19 safety protocols, from Monday – June 7,” a tweet from the CMO Gujarat said.

The CM also asked the officials to administer free vaccines to 2.25 lakh youth in the age group of 18-44 and 75,000 people above 45 years, totaling to 3 lakh people daily from 1200 vaccination centers in all districts of the State.

The vaccination process, in this connection, is already underway.

CMO Gujarat tweeted, “An important decision of CM Shri @vijayrupanibjp to administer free vaccines to 2.25 lakh youth in the age group of 18-44 and 75,000 people above 45 years, totaling to 3 lakh people daily from 1200 vaccination centers in all districts of the State starting from tomorrow – June 4.”

The government in April had asked all its offices to observe holiday on all the Saturdays.

Due to a drop in Covid cases, the government agreed earlier this week to expand the hours of operation for businesses and retail complexes in the 36 cities and towns by three hours starting Friday. Shops can now stay open from 9 AM to 6 PM with this extension.
