The Life of a Showgirl garners Kerala love; Tourism campaign rides Taylor Swift charm

Taylor Swift will release her new album titled ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ on October 3 this year. As soon as the announcement came about, the world went gaga about it. Who would have known the people driving the Kerala Tourism department’s social media handles would see an opportunity there!

Kerala Tourism has made the most of the Swiftie moment, latching on to the upcoming album by creating a superlative campaign that would help the state’s awesome leisure destinations in a major way.

The social media managers at the state’s tourism department have outed a unique campaign with the sensational singer’s ‘Life of a Sunshine Girl’ merging into an image of a houseboat floating across the serene backwaters. The post echoed the album cover with the same mood, colour and all that is unique to the new Swift outing.

Tourism campaign leaves Swifties excited

As soon as the campaign was released, Swiftie fans in Kerala exploded with delight. Many found this astounding, some of them even wondering why they hadn’t realised that Kerala Tourism too was a Swiftie. Showering love on Kerala Tourism for proclaiming its love for Taylor Swift and the upcoming album, fans from Kerala and elsewhere commented with excitement on the Kerala Tourism Instagram page in gay abandon.

Taylor Swift’s  ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ album, which drops on October 3, is her 12th, and is said to have been conceived during the European leg of the Eras Tour. It is rumoured that the album takes a look at the singer’s offstage experiences during the Eras Tour. Significant is the fact that the album also features a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter on the title track. The album has 12 tracks in all.

Selling God’s Own Country through unique campaigns

Kerala Tourism has always been noted for its clear understanding of people’s minds, and has regularly come up with amazing campaigns from time to time. Recently, when a British F-35 aircraft was stuck at the  Thiruvananthapuram International Airport due to technical issues, Kerala Tourism seized the opportunity for a brilliant campaign and did a well-applauded one. A user reposted the news of this campaign with the words: ‘Kerala: Once you land, you won’t want to leave. Ask the British F-35’. This, needless to say, has gone viral.

Now, the Taylor Swift reference in the new campaign is  set to go viral, winning hearts, likes and shares from diehard Swifties in Kerala and other parts of the world.  The Life of a Showgirl is proving to be a sunshine moment for Kerala Tourism too.
