Gautam Adani, the founder of the Adani Group, has grown his fortune by Rs 3,65,700 crore in the last year, or Rs 1002 crore each day.
On the other hand, Reliance Industries Limited’s Mukesh Ambani, however, continues to top the Hurun India Rich List 2021 for the tenth year in a row with a net worth of Rs 7,18,000 crore.
In the recent year, 179 new super-rich persons have been added to India’s list of richest people. During the year of the Coronavirus crisis, the number of such super-rich people in the country has crossed the 1,000 mark.
Gautam Adani catching up to Mukesh Ambani’s wealth
If the present trend of increase in Gautam Adani’s wealth continues, then he can equal his net worth to that of Mukesh Ambani, in just 213 days.
However, during this period the increase in Mukesh Ambani’s wealth will also continue and if his asset growing pace is faster, then he can remain richer than Gautam Adani.
Adani makes significant jump in Hurun India Rich List 2021
According to Hurun India Rich List 2021, Gautam Adani has jumped two places in the list of super-rich people of the country.
Earlier, Adani was at number four in this list, but this year he has jumped two places to the second position.
Except for Adani Power, all the companies of Gautam Adani are worth more than one lakh crore rupees.
Top 10 wealthiest people in India
Despite the 60 per cent increase in the cut-off, there were four new faces in the India Top 10 this year.
Mukesh Ambani, LN Mittal, Dilip Shanghvi, Kumara Mangalam Birla, and Shiv Nadar are the only five people who have remained in the India Top 10 after 10 years.
