Google workspace tools rolled out for all Gmail users
Users can enable Google Chat in their Gmail inbox and have access to all of the features, including the new Rooms collaboration tool, for free
Google Workspace services are now free for everyone with a Google account, according to CEO Sundar PIchai.
At the Google I/O developer conference, the collaborative capabilities in Chat, as well as additions like smart canvas, were introduced.
Users may now take advantage of the integrated experience in Google Workspace by turning on Rooms in Google Chat, which is now available. It may be used as a hub for connecting, creating, and collaborating with others.
The smart canvas feature in Google Docs may be used to create a checklist and assign roles and next steps.
Pichai announced on Twitter that the fully integrated Google Workspace experience is now accessible to all Google account holders.
“Happy to share that the fully integrated @GoogleWorkspace experience, including smart canvas that we announced at #GoogleIO, is now available to everyone with a Google account,” he said.
In a blog post, the company also detailed what the new chat service will include, such as the ability to create a Rooms collaboration space in Google Chat to keep everyone up to date, share ideas, and keep track of all your important information in one place, from videos and photos from your last trip to a Google Sheet of your family’s annual budget.
Users can enable Google Chat in their Gmail inbox and have access to all of the features, including the new Rooms collaboration tool, for free.
These capabilities were previously only available to paying customers, but now they are open to all Google account holders for free.
