Cristiano Ronaldo being lured by Manchester City for €15 million-per-season

Cristiano Ronaldo eyed by Manchester City; Portugal star to leave Juventus

With England captain Harry Kane deciding on staying back with Tottenham Hotspur for the immediate future, Manchester City is open to the possibility of roping in Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo into its fold.

An Indian Express report hinted that Manchester City is looking to sign Ronaldo from Serie A side Juventus soon. The move came after Harry Kane had posted confirmation on his social media handles that he will not leave Spurs this summer. City had been pursuing Kane to bring the striker into the team for quite a while now.

In a social media post, Kane had said that he will be “staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100 percent focused on helping the team achieve success”. The report added that Manchester City is interested in bringing Ronaldo back to the Premier League on a free transfer. The club is ready to offer him a two-year contract, with a salary of €15m-per-season, it added.

Cristiano Ronaldo transfer talks on between Juventus, Manchester City

Juventus, however, has been asking for a €28/30m fee for Ronaldo as it did not want to let him be taken for free. Both the clubs are in talks to decide on a transfer and the price it would involve. The Portugal superstar had earlier enough let his Juventus teammates know that he was looking to leave. The transfer move also follows up on Ronaldo’s statement last week that he was not returning to Real Madrid.

The report added that Ronaldo would stay out of contract next summer. In this context, Juventus would like to sell him off to save on the £500,000 a week wages they pay him, plus tax.

This development apart, Manchester City is also scouting for a striker to fill in the void left by Sergio Aguero when he left for Barcelona.
