Dr. Takahisa Karita’s dynamic persona as an extraordinary leader was honoured by Unified Brainz

Japanese origin Dr. Takahisa Karita has emerged as a Global Force by bringing Researchers and Entrepreneurs together to create an environment friendly world through his revolutionary online platform – UNIPLAT.

Born in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Japan, Takahisa’s father had one of the first venture companies at the time and it was a natural progression for Takahisa to turn Entrepreneur. In 2008, he started a Biotechnology venture in Japan, but when Lehman Brothers tanked, he decided to sell the company. He then used his management experience to build business strategies, support the listing of domestic and foreign companies, and provide due diligence support for investigation of venture companies.

His field of expertise is Pharmaceutical and Healthcare, but he soon acquired the skills to build start-up businesses. While serving as an Advisor and Board Member for many companies, he became an Executive Officer of Chemiteras, a venture company in Japan that conducts R&D of Alzheimer’s disease candidates. That is when he concluded there are many researchers and entrepreneurs around the world who are unable to cross-border and struggle with fundraising.

This gave birth to the idea of UNIPLAT in 2021 – an online platform that supports researchers and entrepreneurs aiming to solve the SDGs, and assists clients (investors, VCs, foundations, research institutes, major companies) who want to support their activities and international members all over the world. In this way, it can not only revitalize the economy, but also play a role in private diplomacy.

There are many online platforms to help researchers and entrepreneurs all over the world. However, most platforms have segments of participants, and very few platforms allow just anyone to participate. UNIPLAT’s concept is that regardless of economic or geographical circumstances, gender, age, race, nationality or creed, everyone will be evaluated equally for their research and business content and receive fair donations from supporters as financial assistance.

In addition, it is the only platform in the world that provides the following services:

“UNIPLAT currently has more than 100,000 people from 124 countries, but by the 2030 SDGs deadline, I would like it to grow into an online community of researchers, entrepreneurs, and supporters from 196 countries around the world. I want to make it a place where people of all ages, races, genders, and religions can create dialogue and solutions for environmental change and world peace,” Takahisa tells us.

Surprisingly, one of Takahisa’s challenges has been geography. Explaining how, he says, “The companies I run and consult are located in Japan, Switzerland, US, Sweden, Switzerland and Hong Kong, whereas I live in Hokkaido, Japan. However, even before COVID-19, I have been making full use of digital meetings and regularly going on overseas business trips to provide all kinds of support. It’s impossible for me as an operator, but in my role as Director, I’ve been running companies this way for over 15 years. When I’m off in Hokkaido, I collect and study information in many different fields, and make future predictions related to the business strategies of each company.
