This decision marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in Milind’s political journey, as he shared his resignation on X, expressing gratitude for the unwavering support received from leaders, colleagues, and karyakartas over the years.

    Political Journey and Ministerial Roles

Milind Deora, born on December 4, 1977, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is the son of the late Congress leader Murli Deora. Known for his active role in Indian politics, Milind has been a prominent member of the Indian National Congress. He has served in various capacities, including as a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Mumbai South constituency. Additionally, he held ministerial roles, serving as the Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology from 2011 to 2012 and later as the Union Minister of State for Shipping from 2012 to 2014.

    Congress Leadership and Youth Engagement

Milind Deora has not only contributed to national politics but has also played a vital role in the Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), where he held the position of the President. His association with youth leadership within the Congress party has been noteworthy, engaging with young voters and addressing issues relevant to the youth.

In his resignation statement, Milind expressed, “Today marks the end of my family’s 55-year relationship with the party. I am grateful to all leaders, colleagues & karyakartas for their unwavering support over the years.”

Discontent with Mumbai South Lok Sabha Constituency Claim

Notably, Deora voiced his discontent with the Shiv Sena (UBT) laying claim to the Mumbai South Lok Sabha constituency, a region he had previously represented. This political shift adds a new dimension to Maharashtra’s political landscape, with Milind Deora set to embark on a fresh chapter in his political career within the ranks of the Shiv Sena. As the news unfolds, it will be interesting to observe the impact of this move on both the Congress party and the Shiv Sena.
