Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel has directed all the District Collectors to ensure all necessary arrangements in the likely flood-affected areas in view of the incessant rains in the state.

Apart from other instructions, he asked for arranging temporary relief camps in vulnerable areas and low-lying areas. “Relief and rescue teams should be kept ready in low-lying and likely flood-affected areas,” the CM directed.
He said that in the event of floods, full vigilance should be taken to deal with any kind of adverse situation. “All preparations should also be kept for the rescue and relief of the people.”
The Chief Minister has given instructions to keep the disaster management team ready in low-lying and likely flood-affected areas, adding that necessary assistance should be provided to the affected immediately, if required.
Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that the water level of rivers should be continuously monitored. “This information should be given regularly in the control room. Wherever flood situation may arise, all necessary arrangements should be ensured in advance,” he said.
The CM has asked the District Collectors to ensure arrangements for temporary relief camps in schools and nearby buildings in the flood-affected areas.
He also asked the officers of State Disaster Response Force, District Police Force, Home Guard, Revenue Department, Health Department, Public Health Engineering, Electricity Department, Public Works, Food Department, Urban Bodies, BSNL, etc to be alert in the affected districts.
