Congress slams Modi-government over slowing rate of COVID-19 vaccinations

The Congress asked PM Modi to make the government’s strategy public as to how it plans to vaccinate all adults by December

The Congress party on Wednesday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government over the slow rate of COVID-19 vaccinations in the country.

“Jumale hain, vaikseen nahin! (Only rhetoric, No Vaccine!),” Congress leader and Member of Parliament, Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

Randeep Singh Surjewala, the party’s General Secretary said, “One day record is made, the news is made, work is over.”

The vaccine was also made a ‘Jumla’, as per Mr. Randeep Surjewala.

The Congress asked PM Modi to make the government’s strategy public as to how it plans to vaccinate all adults by December “when there is simply not enough supply.”

Attacking the Home Minister Amit Shah, the party said he is right in saying that it is almost impossible to contain COVID-19 when his government did everything to ignore the severity of the pandemic.

“HM Amit Shah is right, it is impossible to control something when you have done everything in your power to ignore it,” the party tweeted.

It went on to state, “It has been only 21 days since June 21 that the daily vaccination has reduced by almost 44%. The BJP government has proved to be a failure on every expectation.”

“The government does not know when it will understand that people are not asking questions unreasonably. They have seen that when there is a crisis in the country, our government just keeps watching the spectacle as a mute spectator. Today, people are more afraid of the functioning of the government than Coronavirus,” Congress said.

Meanwhile, the party claimed that the Congress-led government in Chhattisgarh is strengthening the health infrastructure by starting preparations to deal with the possible third wave of Coronavirus.

“The Congress government is fulfilling its responsibility towards the people of Chhattisgarh very well,” it claimed.
