Shri Ram College of Commerce sets new records in campus placements

Shri Ram College of Commerce Placement Cell sees record number of 350-plus offers by recruiters from more than 15 industry sectors in Recruitment Season 2020-21.

Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), one of the foremost educational institutions under the University of Delhi, has set new records in terms of campus placements, even as various industry sectors had seen a slow-down owing to the coronavirus scare during the past two-year period.

The recruitment drive rolled out by major corporate entities turned out to be encouraging for SRCC.  The college played host to more than 100 companies that visited the campus, seeking talented youngsters for full-time roles. The recently concluded Recruitment Season 2020-21 proved to be a huge success, the SRCC Placement Cell said.

A record number of 350-plus offers were doled out by recruiters from more than 15 industry sectors, and they included Consulting, Finance, FMCG, Audit, startups, Actuaries, IT, Marketing and many more.

Consulting majors McKinsey & Company, Bain Capability Network, and Dalberg Advisors; financial companies Deutsche Bank, and Citibank were among the prominent recruiters who picked talented youngsters for full-time jobs in their roles. Besides these companies, a variety of first-time recruiters such as Accenture Strategy, Fischer Jordan also offered full-time roles in diverse profiles.

Significantly, Rs 25 lakhs per annum was the highest compensation offered. The average package offered stood at Rs 8.31 lakhs per annum.

First-ever exclusive PwD recruitment drive, a landmark

The SRCC Placement Cell also achieved yet another landmark this recruitment season by successfully conducting its first-ever PwD (Persons with Disabilities) exclusive recruitment drive. The Placement Cell also floated more than 125 alum opportunities, including consulting giants Bain Capability Network, Genpact and many more.

According to the SRCC Placement Cell, this year’s Recruitment Season brought to the fore the consistent trust and faith placed by the recruiters in the students of the institution, thereby posting a record 32.34 per cent increment in the gross value of offers to Rs 30.48 crore.

Expressing happiness at the way the Recruitment Season turned out, Ansh Goyal, Chief Secretary, SRCC Placement Cell, added that “though we were a bit sceptical initially due to the economic recession, our fears turned out to be unfounded as the number of placement recruiters and the number of offers reached an all-time high. Moreover, as the competition for hiring the best talent intensifies, many recruiters have resorted to the PPO route, leading to 22 PPOs in this season, a milestone in itself. “

Many recruiters visited the campus for multiple hiring rounds emphasizing on students’ multifaceted exposure to the requisite corporate skills and knowledge. Ranked as the No. 1 Commerce College by India Today Group, the talent is at par with top management and technological institutions in terms of recruiter preferences,” Amanpreet Kaur, Convener, The Placement Cell, SRCC, pointed out.

Shri Ram College of Commerce Internship Season

Meanwhile, the Internship Season 2020-21 also witnessed a significant achievement. Prominent recruiters like Hindustan Unilever Ltd, DE Shaw, EY etc offered internship roles across various domains, and the highest stipend offered stood at Rs 1.5 lakh a month. The average stipend for the highest category recruiters was Rs 34 K a month.

Shri Ram College of Commerce is now all geared up for the Recruitment Season 2021-22, and it expects consulting and finance majors to come calling.
