Young India urged to stay away from work-from-home trap
Travelling to office for work three days a week and moonlighting would prove to be bad, cautions Narayana Murthy
The Covid scare now off, most of the technology companies are on their way to set aside the work from home mode for their employees. However, there are still some technology firms who allow their staffers to work remotely, as they have realised that not much of an impact had come about after adopting to the work from home style of functioning.
Infosys Technologies co-founder N R Narayana Murthy has a different opinion when it comes to continuing with the work from home style. Murthy has called upon the youth to desist themselves from falling into the trap of working from home, caution them that travelling to office for work only three days a week and moonlighting in between would prove to be bad for them.
Work ethics is of utmost importance
Going by a news report that quoted Narayana Murthy, young Indians should not opt to work from office just three days a week. Saying that he was not for it, he told the audiences at the Asia Economic Dialogue 2023 that this is the time when the youth of India should consider as their time and that the future of the country rests on their shoulders.
Pointing out that work ethics is of utmost importance, he told the young population of the country that those who have told them that work ethics and hard work are not important and that laziness is a good trait are seldom their well-wishers.
He added that India has at the moment posted success, and this is the time the country should aim to build on that success and aim for much better gains. Hard work is a significant factor in bringing prosperity and economic progress, and that would earn the respect of the world, he was quoted as saying.
Seize the opportunity
Dwelling upon the importance of hard work, Narayana Murthy urged the young people of the country to realise that opportunities that would help in nation-building are in their hands, and such opportunities should never be ignored.
Seizing the opportunity is significant, as such a scenario does not occur to every generation, the Infosys co-founder added.
