Lyon, France – Toyota Motor Corporation’s skilled workforce made a stellar impact at the 47th WorldSkills Competition, held from September 11 to 14, 2024, in Lyon, France. Competing against top talent from across the globe, Toyota’s team of eight participants excelled in seven different categories, bagging two gold medals, two silver medals, and three Medallions for Excellence.
The prestigious event saw Toyota employees showcasing their technical expertise, reaffirming the company’s commitment to fostering world-class skills and innovation.
Gold Medal Triumphs:
- Autobody Repair: Takaya Koishi, from Toyota’s Technical Development & Prototype Division, clinched a gold medal, demonstrating mastery in autobody repair techniques.
- Car Painting: Yuto Hoshino, from the Design Management Division, showcased his exceptional talent, earning the top spot in car painting.
Silver Medal Successes:
- Mechatronics: Yuki Kitagawa, representing the Kamigo/Shimoyama Plant Manufacturing Support Division, and Soma Bando, from the Production Engineering Division, both secured silver medals in mechatronics.
- IT Network Systems Administration: Kyuji Akira, from Toyota’s Monozukuri Development Division, won a silver medal for his proficiency in IT network systems administration.
Medallion for Excellence Winners:
- CNC Milling: Ryoma Hiramatsu from the Mobility Tooling Division was recognized for his high-level skills in CNC milling.
- IT Software Solutions for Business: Shoma Kobayashi, from Toyota’s Monozukuri Development Division, earned a Medallion for Excellence in this field.
- Electronics: Konosuke Shiotsuka, from the Advanced Powertrain Control Development Division, was honored with a Medallion for Excellence in electronics.
