Senior BJP leader Ram Madhav speaking in a press conference at Srinagar criticised the PDP and NC, two regional parties of Jammu and Kashmir. Ram Madhav accused the parties of not being aligned to the demands and aspirations of the people of the state.
According to the BJP leader, the people are talking about electoral rights and development, while the leaders of the state parties are chanting slogans of Pakistan Zindabad alluding to statement made by NC candidate Akbar Lone. He also strongly protested against PDP, NC siding with organisations like JKLF and Jamaat-e-Islami which have been banned by the government recently as part of a fresh crackdown. He said that the government will not allow those organisations to be let off easily.

Continuing his salvo, Madhav said, ” I would like to ask the 2 regional parties who announced their candidates for LS elections, when municipal elections were being held here they were asking people to boycott it. They said Article 35A & Article 370 is under threat due to Modi govt.”
He further said, “There hasn’t been any change in our stand on the 2 issues. Why are they liking LS elections now? They don’t want to provide democratic rights to ppl of this state. But when it comes to their own political future, Farooq sa’ab &Mehbooba ji want to contest. They’re selfish.”
