Qatar: Jordan’s national football team continues to defy expectations at the AFC Asian Cup, securing a historic place in the semi-finals with a thrilling victory over Tajikistan. After their surprising 3-2 win over Iraq in the Round of 16, Jordan displayed resilience and determination once again to defeat their Central Asian opponents 1-0 at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.

In a hard-fought match that saw both teams locked in a stalemate for 65 minutes, Jordan turned on the pressure, ultimately leading to Tajikistan conceding an own goal. Vahdat Hanonov inadvertently deflected Ehsan Haddad’s header into his net, securing Jordan’s place in the AFC Asian Cup semi-finals for the first time in history.
