Cognizant triples campus hiring in Kerala since 2021; to recruit 2K fresh graduates this year

Cognizant has added to Kerala spread with expansion of Naveda Campus in Kochi

Technology major Cognizant, which began its operations in Kerala way back in in 2007, has expanded its presence in the state by opening its newest facility in Kochi.  The company has grown manifold in the state and currently employs more than 3700 professionals. Of these, over 80 percent have been working on digital technologies such as AI, IoT, Analytics, among others.

Besides, the company has tripled its hiring from campuses across the state since last year and will be on-boarding 2000 fresh graduates this year. The new facility in Kochi was opened by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who lauded the company for contributing to the state’s knowledge economy.

According to Rajesh Nambiar, Chairman and Managing Director, Cognizant India, the company has expanded its presence in Kochi, and is proud to have brought new jobs and opportunities. “Talent, digital upskilling, and preparing the leaders of tomorrow is not limited by region, and with today’s new expansion of our Kochi campus, we are reaffirming our commitment to investing in the talent of the state and continue supporting Kerala’s path to sustainable development,” he said.

Cognizant expansion to support over 2k professionals

The new facility is located at Infopark in Kochi, and it is part of Cognizant’s Cochin Naveda Campus (CNC) which has been awarded Gold LEED certification for its world-class sustainable design and practices. The facility features modern and vibrant workspaces to foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment and has expanded its capacity to support over 2000 associates through hybrid work model.

Going by a report brought out by Cognizant, Kochi is identified as one of the 21 places of the future – a city with the potential to invigorate a technology ecosystem fit for the future of work.   This adds significance to its expansion spree in the state’s business capital.

It is expected that the expansion would strengthen Cognizant’s focus on a hybrid work model in Kochi. The state-of-the art facility will enable associates to collaborate face-to-face as teams while maintaining the flexibility they seek. Employees will continue to be equipped with the right tools and training, opportunities to learn and grow, and empowered by the company culture of putting its people’s well-being first. The CNC offers associates a gymnasium, kayaking, and an open-air amphitheater, among other facilities.

Sustainable strategies galore at new campus

Spread across 15 acres, the Cochin Naveda Campus has received several accolades for implementing sustainable strategies and solutions. The campus has been awarded a 5-star rating for Environment Health and Safety and for rainwater harvesting initiatives from the Confederation of Indian Industry. On an average, 90 percent of the campus’ water requirements are met through its rainwater harvesting system.

The campus is also designed for zero water discharge and has completed planting 450 trees under its plantation drive program. The company is planning new sustainability initiatives to Kochi to align with its net zero goals.
