We are yet to get our 38,000 Cr GST refund from Centre: Uddhav Thackeray in Dussehra Speech

Uddhav Thackeray gave his first Dussehra speech yesterday as the CM of Maharashtra. He talked about various issues including reconsidering the present GST system.

Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dussehra Rally was held at the Savarkar Hall, where Uddhav Thackeray addressed the crowd. He talked about various issues at length.

Charging guns at the Center Government on several matters, he pointed out their shortcomings of the government, their poll promises of the past years and this Bihar Election Campaign. His jibes were received with thundering applause.

1.Free COVID-19 Vaccine Claim For Bihar Election

Thackeray said that the election campaigns in Bihar have stooped to a new low. Targetting the centre, he said,” They should be ashamed to say that just for the sake of campaigning. If there are promising Free COVID-19 vaccine to Bihar, then are the other states Bangladesh or Pakistan?”

2. Reinvention Of The GST system

The Maharashtra CM charged guns at the Indian GST system. He said that the Goods and Service Tax implemented by the Indian Government is a failure and that PM Modi should revert it to the old tax regime. He further announced that the state of Maharashtra is yet to get the GST refund of INR 38,000 Crore from the centre.

3. COVID-19 Pandemic Outbreak

Uddhav Thackeray further blamed the government for focussing on toppling state governments rather than handling the toppling economy. He accused the BJP government of trying to create anarchy.

4.Wordwar With Kangana Ranaut

Taking an indirect jibe at Kangana Ranaut’s PoK remarks, CM Uddhav Thackeray said,” Some people come to Mumbai to earn their livelihood and their abuse the same Mumbai by calling it PoK.”
