Traditional worship ends with brotherhood in J&K’s Pulwama
Every year the Kashmiri Pandits used to worship this spring for acceptance of the Amarnath Yatra.
SRINAGAR (J&K) —
An example of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood was seen in Tral area of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir when the Pandit community performed Pavitra Snan and Puja.
According to details reaching here, every year at the end of the Amarnath Yatra, Kashmiri Pandits come to a local spring of Nowdal Tral area of the Valley’s southern district and worship the acceptance of the Yatra.
This trend had stopped after the migration of Kashmiri Pandits in the early nineties, but over the past several years, this traditional process has resumed.
A function was also held here by the Pandit community and special prayers were offered on the occasion of Pooja for seeking the end of Coronavirus pandemic.
Adequate security arrangements were made for the devotees by the administration while the local Muslims welcomed the Pandit community and kept the candle of brotherhood alive.
On the occasion, a devotee named Rakesh Pandit expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration and also thanked the local Muslims.
He added, “We come here every year and find the religious place well maintained. We are very thankful to the local people, especially the Muslim community who have facilitated in keeping this tradition alive amid the most testing times.”
