At 98.4%, COVID-19 recovery rate improving in UP: Yogi Adityanath

The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday held a virtual meeting with the chairpersons of the committees formed in relation to COVID-19.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave necessary instructions to the officers for prevention of Corona infection.

Yogi Adityanath said, “Corona infection has been controlled in the state, but it has not ended. To break the chain of infection and provide security cover to the people of the state, the work of Covid vaccination should be carried out expeditiously.”

In the last 24 hours, 336 new cases of Corona infection have come to light in the state. In the same period, 685 infected persons have been successfully treated and discharged.

At present, the number of active cases of infection is 6,019.

In the last 24 hours, 2,90,234 Covid tests have been done. A total of 5,44,36,119 Corona tests have been done in the state.

“The recovery rate of Corona infection is also increasing continuously. This rate has gone up to 98.4 percent,” as per the UP CM Yogi Adityanath.

Along with screening by surveillance committees, the work of providing medicine kits to symptomatic and suspected infected persons is going on in the state.

“We are ensuring availability of adequate medicine kits with committees,” the chief minister stated.

“Medicines provided by the Central Government are being made available as soon as possible for the treatment of patients infected with black fungus. Also, as per the advice of experts, alternative medicines are also being arranged and made available,” Mr Yogi said.

To ensure easy and hassle-free access to patients, ambulances etc., he directed the officials to strengthen connectivity of community and primary health centers.

The number of Covid beds are increasing continuously, as per the CM. “There has been an increase of 75 Covid beds in various medical colleges of the state last day. This includes 50 isolation beds and 25 ICU beds.”

He added, “Human resource is also being increased as per the requirement. The construction work of Pediatric ICU and Neonatal ICU is going on a war footing. This is also being reviewed regularly.”

He directed for the construction work of medical colleges to be completed in a quality manner, expeditiously and with punctuality.

“Nine medical colleges can be started this year. Out of these, the construction work of seven is almost complete,” he revealed.

He also assured, “There is adequate availability of medical oxygen in the state. In the last 24 hours, 338 metric tonnes of oxygen was supplied. Oxygen is available with hospitals, medical colleges and re-fillers with a backup of more than five days.”

The process of setting up oxygen plants in the state is being reviewed regularly by the authorities. The total number of oxygen plants operating, under construction, and sanctioned in the state has increased to 441. Out of these, 100 oxygen plants have become functional.
